Conference Prepares Execs to Manage Supply Chain

To help chief supply-chain officers build strategies that align with evolving consumer and supply-chain demands, the upcoming Gartner conference features keynote presentations, networking events with suppliers, and one-on-one consultations with analysts.

There are less than two weeks left to register for the Gartner Supply Chain Executive Conference. Taking place May 23-25 in Phoenix, AZ, the event is geared toward executives in supply chain planning, procurement and manufacturing, logistics, and distribution. It will shine light on important topics including metrics optimization, data analytics in the Internet of Things, and automated solutions for inventory planning and logistics.

The theme of the conference will be to ACT—Aspire, Challenge, and Transform—as teams adapt to disruptions in the supply chain. To helpthem remain competitive in fast-paced markets, conference tracks will include Strategy and Leadership, Supply Chain Innovation, Supply Chain Planning, Customer Service and Logistics, and Supplier Management and Manufacturing.

This year’s advisory board comprises supply-chain leaders from Johnson & Johnson, Coca-Cola Refreshments, Cisco, and other companies with large product offerings. They will discuss a variety of topics ranging from information technology and digital solutions to supply-chain logistics.

The show will also feature Gartner analysts and experts providing forecasts for the emerging customer landscape. Sessions will discuss the expectations of generation Z—both as supply-chain members and consumers—for product lifecycle value. Forecasts will also analyze the cost to serve new markets.

Speakers will also evaluate growing technologies like 3D printing and their projected impact on manufacturing individualized products. Other discussions will address capabilities in data analytics offered by smart machines in the Internet of Things and the roles of contract and bimodal manufacturing.

The conference will also connect chief supply-chain officers with technology and digital service providers, as they look to build partnerships that will enable faster turnaround for a diversifying customer base. CSCOs can discuss third-party logistics (3PL) and integrated business planning (IBP) and sales and operations planning (S&OP).

In addition, case study presentations are part of the agenda. At OpenText’s Booth #315, Supplier Quality & Inventory Accuracy Manager Seth Barney will discuss how O.C. Tanner—a company specializing in recognition products—built a strategy using external expertise to digitalize its supply chain. Barney will present the company’s story from 8:00 to 8:45 AM on Thursday, May 25 in room Grand Canyon 5.
