Top executives from the electronics supply channel meet this week in Las Vegas for EDS 2016. Hosted at The Mirage hotel and billed as the show “where the electronics industry connects,” EDS is a leadership summit where top decision makers from manufacturing and distribution companies meet for one-on-one discussions, networking, and industry updates.
Although high-level, one-on-one business meetings are the hallmark of the EDS Summit, the program also features industry updates and educational opportunities through additional programming. An all-industry meeting Thursday morning, May 12, will feature keynote speaker Don Hnatyshin, chief supply chain officer for electronics manufacturing service provider JABIL, for instance. Hnatyshin leads a team of 4,000 supply chain and procurement professionals responsible for $15 billion in annual spending with 20,000 suppliers. His presentation is entitled “The Digital Economy: Impacts on the Design Chain, Manufacturing and Supply Chain.
EDS will also host Spark, its professional development group aimed at introducing talented new professionals to the EDS program and giving them tools to help grow in their careers. In addition to introducing the next generation of executives to EDS, the Spark program features seminars and special networking events throughout the three-day show.
EDS 2016 opens with an industry reception Tuesday evening, May 10, and is followed by two days of one-on-one business meetings, interspersed with additional industry programming. EDS is sponsored by the Electronic Components Industry Association and the Electronic Representatives Association.
