Components distributor Sager Electronics has begun a purchase agreement to acquire PowerGate LLC, a power specialist distributor, in a deal that will be beneficial to both companies. Frank Flynn, president of Sager Electronics, commented, “This acquisition advances one of our growth strategies and strengthens our position in the market as a power specialist.” Flynn added that Sager will continue to grow by making substantial investments in key markets.
Paul Christiansen, president of PowerGate, also expressed excitement about the acquisition. He will join Sager as vice president, supplier marketing and product management for power. Current VP Ed Kramar will remain in an advisory capacity. The acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions and is projected to close by June 30, 2014.
