The U.S. Department of Defense announced that $84 million will be released to help sustain essential industrial base capacities in the wake of COVID-19.

84 million dollars are to be released through the Defense Production Act to be used to help sustain essential industrial base capacities. The U.S. Department of Defense announced that the money will be divided between seven companies to assist with disruptions caused by the Covid-19 outbreak.

The money, divided among seven different companies, will be used to “sustain and strengthen essential domestic industrial base capabilities,” per a Pentagon announcement. “These actions will help to retain critical workforce capabilities throughout the disruption caused by COVID-19 and to restore some jobs lost because of the pandemic.”
